Its been a very fast moving 2013 with a handfull of battles in the first chapter of this years tour. The talent level of Disc Golf is at an all time high with players wanting to win more then ever. I really enjoy the competitive atmosphere at every single tournament. Nothing in life comes easy so I’m focused on working harder then ever before. I want to win more tournaments including Worlds, European open and US championships. I am traveling in the car right now with road warrior and fellow Pro Devan Owens. We are on our way west towards Masters Cup. After Masters Cup we are parking the Prius in Santa Cruz and flying out to Georgia for the Next National Tour. Copenhagen Major is approaching and I want to feel mentally and physically ready for this one. Only winning one of my first 7 events its all comes down to the preparation hard work pays off so simply work harder. Its that time where I need to prove myself as one of the best in the game for personal satisfaction first. I want the first place trophy and the paycheck. Satisfaction comes with walking off the course feeling like you earned your Win. The realization sets in right after the tournament is wrapped up and over. I’m feeling truly motivated to get back to the number one spot. I do not think for a second that anybody in the game is actually better then me. This is just the way I feel and an opinion after a bump in the road in 2012. This is a New Day and a New chapter in the book.
I appreciate the life that Disc Golf has given me but I know how fast time just slips by. Time is of the essence and the time is now. Tomorrow is never promised and you do not always get second chances at making that putt for Win. “I want to WIN” thats what I’m going after 2nd isn’t good enough to satisfy the hunger. On top of winning I am organizing a Project to give back to the sport I love. I want to make a difference and I know that I will do so. I’m working with really great people these days that believe in me and Sport of Disc Golf. I believe in my heart that this game we play needs to change in certain ways. “Embrace what this sport is and the culture that surounds us” I’m way over the politics in life all around if you want something in this life you must go after it full speed. Many people live in fear of failing or fear of accomplishing larger then life dreams. I have so many ideas and ways to progress the sport. Believers will believe haters are going to hate that goes for everything and everybody. Believers make things happen hatters kick it on the sidelines. Love my friends, family and everybody that supports me all around the board. Although I have not kept up with this blog as much as I should but the passion and dreams are still thriving inside and behind the scenes. I have more people come up to me then ever before just letting me know that they support me and that means more then words can describe. “Watching the sport progress and having the chance to make a difference gives me fuel to succeed in my goals”

I had a great start to the Memorial with an 1100 rated first round opening the first NT of 2013. Keeping solid play during the 2nd round I was able to stay tied for the lead with Fellow Team member Ricky Wysoki. A few bad brakes during the 3rd round at Vista Del Camino during the end of the round cost me a good amount of strokes. Disappointed couldn’t begin to describe my frustrating after jamming a 70 ft up hill putt then watching the flawed basket spit out roll away down a hill OB. Tough luck and another learning experience although I could have laid up the first one and saved strokes there is always a lesson learned. Looking back all I had to do was position myself like a game of chess in the 3rd round. I did not need to run a put on hole 16 in a nut shell costing me the tournament. Hope to god that I learn from these mistakes when it comes time for Major Championship titles. I am going to win this year I can feel it building up when I do win it will have nothing to do with luck good brakes or bad brakes. I want to win from the bottom of my soul and when I do I want to feel like I deserve it. Hard work always pays off in everything in life. Those who go the extra mile and put in work will get rewarded in the end. After the nightmare of a third round I went from 1st to 8th place that was a hard one to sleep over going into the last and final round at Fountain Hills. I started off the first hole of the last round with a nice down hill jump Putt from about 60ft. I proceeded to birdie as many holes as possible testing my abilities and just going with the flow. Finished the round with a Nice Jump Putt for circle three on hole 18 to take solo 4th place. The 3rd looser I know that things happen and there is usually a bright side to everything just wish we were playing Big tournaments with Arroyo Baskets so luck was not a factor. I’m a realist and know we all deal with the same terrain and baskets week in and week out. I will not make excuses for what is in the past now just keep my focus and ambition set on the future. Austin Texas is hosting this years Texas State Championships. I was close last year to taking down my 2nd Texas states looking for a Win this upcoming weekend. Manor Field is a great course with many tests and obstacles to overcome chasing down the victory. Disc Golf is an amazing game with New things to learn all the time. “Every Throw has a story behind it ”

We are working on shooting a Disc Golf documentary with Paul Kinney and his girlfriend Raina Maes. Great people who share a similar vision in promoting disc golf as a healthy active living sport. Yesterday we shot video at Hogan Park today we are doing one of many School clinics in San Francisco. Looking forward to an exciting event filled year working with amazing people around this world. I have a lot of vision and a lot of direction for how I want to involve myself in the Disc Golf world. Working with amazing people like Paul and Raina we will get the message out there in the public that “Disc Golf is for everybody” We are staying out here for a couple weeks then we are off to Vegas then Memorial to get the season started.

I won my first tournament of the year in Scottsdale Arizona last week against many of the best players in the game right now. What a good feeling to come out of the gates swinging Won my 7 strokes at the first tournament of the year. Hopefully this is a sign of Great things to come. I’m working harder then ever and am focused on the prize. What is the Prize? Perform my best and push my self all year long. Cale and I are doing fitness training weekly plus Yoga which has helped me a lot. I’m on a spiritual Journey this year to play my best and accomplish personal set goals. Everyone in this world has a different vision of success. Some are searching for fame, others just the money, I would personally like to leave a mark in the Disc Golf world as someone that helped progress Disc Golf not just win a few tournaments. In my own mind I have a lot of ideas and material that could help push Disc Golf in the right direction. Of course this is my opinion and everything takes time. I’m working hard at reaching for my goals and not letting anything get in the way. Time is too short and life moves to fast sometimes.

I have been working on establishing the I heart Disc Golf foundation to donate discs and baskets to schools. We are getting one step closer working with Arroyo Disc Sports and Prodigy Disc. Both New companies are building from the ground floor up and have one direction together Grow Disc Golf. Playing my individual role in this project I want to bring people together in a common goal to Progress the Greatest Game in the world into a Nationwide Respected Sport. Many people across the country are pushing and working together running tournaments and putting in courses. I have a lot of love for those people making the difference. Must be a good feeling to give back to a game that has som much potential to affect the masses. Our sport is growing as we speak and looks to be gaining steam in the past couple years.

This year has been very exciting so far with the launch of Prodigy Disc and Arroyo Disc Sports. I feel in the pentacle of opportunity to work with people that want to see change and create change. Our sport needed better baskets Arroyo is onto something with a New Patent for Chain Configuration. These baskets should be at every single National Tour and Major in the future to eliminate spit outs and better the Sport. Prodigy Disc has many of the best players in Disc Golf right now who are all focused on winning tournaments. I believe this New company will make sure the players have a better future in Disc Golf. I have had success with the D1 distance driver and plenty more discs are in the works. Look forward to playing with a full bag of Prodigy in the coming future.

I’m in California practicing and promoting Disc Golf doing exactly what I love to do. This year is a New Chapter in my life. I’m sure there will be many hurtles and obstacles to overcome on my path to success but i am willing to work and push through. Disc Golf has changed my life and for that I will forever be thankful. Believe me when I tell you I’m going to make a difference in the Sport I love I hope we can work together to progress this amazing Sport.

Taking them out of the box for the first time I was thrilled to have a New Stack in my hands ready for test flight. I met up with a few friends at Creve Coeur Park to let them test this new company. After ripping a few down the middle I discovered a repeatable flight pattern. By the time we got to hole 2 I already threw all 10 drivers and started to get a feel for the right angle to release. I had a long reach back and really got a hold of a blue one down the middle hyzer flip with just enough height plus glide. This long drive flew about 550ft flat ground. I typically did not get this far down the fairway on the par 4. My drive was about almost pin high from the basket. I was sold and getting amped to throw more drives. As a few people approached and crowded around we continued to make our way around the course. I let people throw the D1 and get a fee

With a lot of things in the works for 2013 its time to make a difference in the Sport of the Next Generation. I am focused on moving forward on a spiritual Journey to reach personal goals in the Disc Golf world. I want to Win this year and push myself to New Heights on the way! Its time to prepare my mind body and soul for whats ahead.

I will start the P90X this week and focus on Yoga in the Beginning of this New Year. Every Day comes New opportunity and New challenges to overcome. Organizing an elite Team of Disc Golf Talent that will help progress the game is a great start to New things. The game of Disc Golf is in a transition period from my perspective. Disc Golf is Changing from game and recreational activity to Sport of the Future” No other game or sport on earth can match the angles and creative atmosphere that Disc Golf represents. Its a great feeling to be a part of such an amazing sport that is on the rise.

Launching the Disc Golf Expansion Project and working with companies like Prodigy Disc, and Arroyo Disc Sports takes Disc Golf to a New World of opportunity. I was lucky enough to spend three weeks in Southern California with Owners of Arroyo Disc Sports during the month of November. This was an important business meeting and opportunity for me to express my ideas of linking Arroyo with Prodigy Discs.

I’m now working with guys that have worked with Nelly, slightly stupid, and movies like transformers. Its finally all coming together. This is proof that hard work and dedication overcomes all. Working with Arroyo Disc Sports is like a dream come true. I actually felt like a movie star or close to it after the first part of our production yesterday. A whole crew of movie experts set the scene in Logan’s house. This whole set up made the realization set in that BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING. I’m 100% convinced that this promotional video will be cutting edge unlike anything done in the disc golf world ever before. Linking up with the right people and networking our ideas together is going to turn into something spectacular. I will try to post some teaser clips to this website as soon as possible to let people behind the scenes on the largest DISC GOLF VIDEO PRODUCTION of all time. This is not the bouncing cameras like you watch on PDGA live feed disc golf tv. This is the real deal and we are taking this sport to new heights with this whole video production.
